February 24th, 2010Meet Alexandra Penney
February 8th, 2010
On February 17th, WIN is holding an evening of converstaion with Tina Brown, the Editor in Chief of The Daily Beast, Alexandra Penney, Author of The Bag Lady Papers and Larry Kramer, Founder of MarketWatch, Inc. I had a chance to speak with Alexandra about her new book and involvement with the event.
“Women need meaningful work and relationships and a nurturing environment,” Alexandra commented, “We need to help those who don’t so they can realize their full potential.” A former editor at Self magazine, she was always interested in helping women and is delighted to be a part of this event.
Even though she lost all of her life savings in the Madoff Scheme, she never actually had to live her biggest fear of becoming a ‘bag lady.” However, her book, The Bag Lady Papers is launching the day before and everyone who attends will receive a signed copy.

One Night, 3,000 New Yorkers. Let’s Make it Count.
January 13th, 2010The New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) conducts an annual street outreach to survey the NYC homeless population. DHS is recruiting 3,000 volunteers to conduct the survey on January 25, 2010.
We would like to encourage everyone to participate in this rewarding and worthwhile event. I participated in a previous survey and found it to be a sobering and rewarding experience.
