What type of donations are accepted?
Both financial support and in-kind donations.

What types of in-kind donations?
We accept the following gently used items:
  • Coats (Dry Cleaned)
  • Career clothing (Dry Cleaned)
Note: All items must be cleaned and delivered in their dry cleaning bags. If you would like to donate other used items that are not listed, please contact the Salvation Army at 1.800.95.TRUCK (1.800.958.7825) or The Partnership for the Homeless at 718.875.5353.

We also gratefully accept any new items. We especially need:
  • Clothing
  • Baby items
  • Undergarments
  • Shoes
  • Toys
  • Books
  • Toiletries

Where do you accept donations?
Drop-offs can be made at the Executive Office on West 31st Street; Hours: 9am - 5pm; Monday - Friday.

We do not provide pick-up services.

Why can't I come directly to WIN?
In the NYC shelter system, you must be determined eligible and referred by the Path Office.

What is the Path Office?
The Prevention Assistance and Temporary Housing Office, located in Bronx, NY, is the new intake center for families in New York City. The Path Office determines shelter eligibility and, if found eligible, provides placement in temporary shelters or permanent housing. It is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, including holidays. Path has replaced the EAU (Emergency Assistance Unit), which was permanently closed July 1, 2006.

How do I become a WIN client?
Once processed through Path, although we cannot guarantee it, you can request to be transferred to a WIN residence.

Do you provide any walk-in services?
Yes, but only if you are coming to WIN as a clinic patient. The only walk-in service we provide is treatment in our Alcohol & Substance Abuse Clinic.
