Message from Bonnie Stone, President and CEO The New Year brings to mind many things as we look back to the past and forward to the future. Last year, Women In Need served a record number of women and children – 10,073 – in our shelters, supportive housing, and clinics, a 12% increase from 2007. We also placed more than 600 families in permanent housing. As New York City faces its largest economic crisis since September 11th, we look forward to the support of people like you to help us meet the challenge of helping thousands of New York families regain their independence and stability. In 2009, we will continue our tradition of providing housing, help and hope to families as they face the crisis of homelessness. |

With the help of numerous groups and individual volunteers, WIN made sure that over 1,600 children in our shelters received holiday gifts, attended special holiday events, and were able to experience the excitement and fun of the holiday season. For helping to put a smile on the faces of over 1,600 children and their parents, WIN extends our heartfelt thanks to our 2008 Secret Santa participants. Read More |
