Unlike past award winners, Stockings With Care is an organization and not an individual volunteer. However, this tremendous organization is comprised of a very active all volunteer corps with 100% of its funding going towards its mission - and its mission is an impressive one: to help families in need create the magic of the holidays with dignity.

The didicated volunteers of Stockings With Care have participated in WIN's Secret Santa Program for the last 15 holiday seasons. They sponsor nearly 500 (a full quarter) of WIN's children for the holidays, when each child is presented with three specially wrapped gifts which they have requested.

Stocking With Care pays special attention to the children's requests and makes sure to get the details correct. It is important to them that children be honored during the holidays, and that means that a child should receive the exact toy that he/she requested or piece of clothing that not only fits perfectly but is in his/her favorite color. Stockings With Care makes the holidays exciting, fun, and memorable for some 2,000 children throughout NYC, and we were especially proud to extend this extraordinary volunteer organization with the 2007 award.
